“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. The best is yet to come.” – Zig Ziglar

Talia Toon

MSW, LCSW, CCTSI

I am passionate about fostering supportive, trusting relationships that empower clients to overcome challenges and move forward in positive, productive ways. I am always excited to utilize my skills as an EMDR trained Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist to help my clients walk through their difficult past trauma. I am a Clinical Supervisor with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health as well as a Field Liaison with the ASU School of Social Work. My goal is to combine leadership, clinical expertise, and a trauma-informed approach to drive meaningful outcomes for both clients and teams.

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, adoption, pregnancy loss, chronic pain, and chronic illness. My goal is to provide a healing, compassionate space where clients feel seen, supported, and equipped with tools for long-term resilience.

With nearly 14 years of experience working across diverse settings, including first response and on-scene crisis intervention, hospital crisis care, and in-home and hospital-based therapy.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University, where I also serve as a field liaison, supporting graduate-level students. I bring a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to every individual and family I serve. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my goal and focus will be and has always been an individualized plan for every client.

I am an independent affiliated therapist with Family Perspectives, LLC. I use therapeutic approaches that I find best suit my client’s needs and I schedule my own clients.

Feel free to call me to schedule an appointment.   I look forward to meeting with you.

My experience ranges from working with adults and adolescents in inpatient mental health hospitals, group homes, in-home and in office settings. I have helped adolescents and adults develop and improve coping strategies to deal with anxiety, depression, anger, obsessive thoughts, and tics/Tourette’s since 1996.

Couples are often looking for revitalization of their relationship and improved communication. Sometimes they’re trying to regain trust after an affair or are thinking divorce and are looking for one last glimpse of hope.  Even change with just one party can start the ball rolling to making change in the relationship. I provide tools and support which help relationships get on track, again. I have training in Terry Real’s Relationship Life Therapy.

Adolescents have said that they find it comfortable talking with me, while maintaining professional boundaries and working with parents improving their relationship with their children.  Focusing on structure, rules, and learning how to make use of natural consequences often help parents.  I have found that providing a safe environment and quickly building rapport allows improvement and change to happen within the first few sessions.

Clients with depression, obsessive thoughts, Tourette’s, or anxiety often take medication in addition to being in therapy.  I am able to work with your psychiatrist or recommend one if needed.  I also believe that medications should be used only when other conventional methods prove to be unsuccessful.

I am an independent affiliated therapist with Family Perspectives, LLC. I use therapeutic approaches that I find best suit my client’s needs and I schedule my own clients.

Feel free to call me to schedule an appointment.   I look forward to meeting with you.

Matt Slavsky doing Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

On my free time

I enjoy training Brazilian jiu-jitsu which I have done for over 20 years.  I also like hiking, traveling the United States and other parts of the world with my wife and stepson, attending concerts with a variety of musical interests, and reading.  I also work as a crisis therapist in various hospitals throughout the valley.  I live by the motto, work hard, play hard, and have also added the equally important "rest hard" as I navigate through life.

My clients say things like…

"My son has never opened up to any other therapist before you."

“You’ve done so much for me, you’ve gone above and beyond for me and I feel very comfortable talking with you.”

I usually make contact the same day!

Seeing clients in Maricopa County, AZ and now in Boca Raton, Florida.
